Newcastle United reportedly on the verge of signing 21-year-old

According to reports, Newcastle United have made a loan bid for Chelsea youngster Kenedy.

The Magpies are looking to bolster their side ahead of the season and manager Rafa Benitez has admitted to be in a state of frustration as he feels that his club have not made enough signings this summer.

This deal is one which may go ahead though. The 21-year-old is not yet ready for regular first team action for the Blues and they may be open to allowing him to join the Magpies, as it will allow them to gauge whether the player is able to meet the demands of the Premier League.

The Brazilian Kenedy was sent home from Chelsea’s pre-season tour of China this summer after posting inappropriate videos on Instagram, where he mocked the Chinese people.

Chelsea issued a statement following the incident stating, “Kenedy’s actions were a mistake that he will learn greatly from.

“His behaviour does not represent the entire team and does not align with the club’s high expectations and strict requirements of its young players. He has been strongly reprimanded and disciplined.”
