How to Watch Boca Juniors vs Vasco da Gama in the USA
The straightforward answer: turn on beIN Sports or beIN Sports en Español at 8:30 PM ET, or stream the match on beIN Sports Connect. Both beIN channels carry the full broadcast, one in English and one in Spanish, because beIN Sports holds the U.S. rights to the Copa Sudamericana.
What makes this match different from most of the soccer on U.S. television this week is that there is no second network involved. There is no Univision, Telemundo or FOX simulcast to stumble across. If you are watching this match in the United States, you are watching it on beIN, one way or another.
Is Boca Juniors vs Vasco da Gama Free to Watch?
No confirmed free option exists for this match. Some U.S. soccer broadcasts can be watched free with a digital antenna because they air on over-the-air networks. That does not apply here: beIN Sports is a pay channel, and beIN Sports Connect requires a subscription or a participating TV provider login. Every confirmed viewing path for this match requires a paid TV package or subscription of some kind.
Where to Find beIN Sports
beIN Sports is not as widely carried as the big U.S. sports networks, and that is the main hurdle for this match. Two of the biggest providers do not carry it at all: there is no beIN Sports on DirecTV and no beIN Sports on Xfinity. If either of those is your provider, the channels are not in your package at any price.
Traditional carriage does exist, just in patches. Dish, Spectrum, Verizon Fios and Optimum all carry beIN Sports, along with a group of smaller cable systems. Most U.S. viewers, though, reach beIN through streaming: Fubo, YouTube TV and Fanatiz all carry both beIN channels, and beIN Sports Connect carries them directly for $5.99 a month.
Is Boca Juniors vs Vasco da Gama on Fubo?
Yes, Fubo does carry both beIN channels. Since this semifinal airs on beIN Sports and beIN Sports en Español, Fubo subscribers can watch it live in English or Spanish.
Every Confirmed Streaming Option
beIN Sports Connect. beIN’s own streaming service carries both beIN channels live, including this match. It is the cheapest confirmed option at $5.99 a month, and viewers with a participating TV provider can also sign in with those credentials.
Fubo. Fubo carries beIN Sports and beIN Sports en Español, so the match streams live on Fubo for subscribers.
Fanatiz. Fanatiz carries the beIN Sports channels in its Front Row package, which also includes the rest of its South American soccer coverage. It is the cheapest of the multichannel services.
YouTube TV. YouTube TV carries both beIN channels, so subscribers can watch the semifinal live there as well.
No other U.S. streaming option is confirmed for this match. If anything changes before kickoff, this article will be updated.
Match Preview
This semifinal pairs two clubs that took very different roads to the same place. Boca Juniors dropped into the Copa Sudamericana after finishing third in their Copa Libertadores group, then survived every round: a penalty shootout against O’Higgins in the playoff round, a 7-1 aggregate rout of Deportivo Recoleta in the round of 16, and a tight 2-1 aggregate win over Sao Paulo in the quarterfinals.
Vasco da Gama played the long version of this tournament: the group stage, a playoff win over Independiente Medellin, a round of 16 win over Olimpia, and a quarterfinal against Santa Fe settled by a 2-0 home win after a scoreless first leg.
There is history on the line for both. Boca have won this tournament twice, in 2004 and 2005, and share the record with five other clubs; a third title would make them the most successful club in Copa Sudamericana history, and they are in a semifinal for the first time since 2014.
Vasco are in their first Sudamericana semifinal since 2011 and have never reached the final. The clubs have not met in official competition in 25 years, since two 2-2 draws in the 2001 Copa Mercosur.
Recent Form
All competitions, both clubs arrive unbeaten in their last five matches. Boca’s quarterfinal was the hard part of their recent run: a 1-0 home win over Sao Paulo through Miguel Merentiel, then a 1-1 draw in Sao Paulo where Leandro Lozano scored the goal that decided the tie. Domestically, Boca most recently drew 2-2 at Instituto, after beating Union at La Bombonera.
Vasco’s form line is built on defense. Goalkeeper Leo Jardim has kept seven clean sheets in Vasco’s 12 matches in this tournament, and the quarterfinal followed the pattern: 0-0 away to Santa Fe, then a 2-0 home win with goals from Bruno Duarte and David. In the Brasileirao, Vasco most recently drew 0-0 at Remo after beating Botafogo 2-1.
Team News
Boca’s big absence is Leandro Paredes. The midfielder tore his right hamstring in the draw at Instituto and has been ruled out of the entire semifinal series, which removes Boca’s most experienced midfield presence from both legs.
Vasco travel with problems of their own. Forward Facundo Colidio, signed from River Plate, cannot play because he is not registered for this tournament. Defender Carlos Cuesta is out with a back problem, and midfielder Cauan Barros is out after suffering a cut to his left foot in a car accident. Midfielder Johan Rojas was left out of the squad by the coach’s decision. Up front, quarterfinal scorer Bruno Duarte and Brenner are both back in the squad.
Key Storylines
The first leg is Boca’s opportunity. The second leg will be played in Rio de Janeiro, so the tie’s shape will be set at La Bombonera. Boca have built their run on home wins in the knockouts, and with Paredes out for both legs, taking a lead back to Brazil is close to a necessity.
Vasco are built to survive this trip. Seven clean sheets in 12 tournament matches, nine goals scored away from home in the competition, and a quarterfinal won by keeping the away leg scoreless: Pedro Emanuel’s side are comfortable defending a tie deep into the second leg.
Nobody knows where the second leg will be played. The return match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20 in Rio, but Sao Januario does not meet CONMEBOL’s 30,000 seat minimum for a semifinal. Vasco are evaluating the Maracana and the Engenhao while CONMEBOL presses for a decision.
The winners advance to the final on November 21 in Barranquilla, Colombia, against the winners of the other semifinal, Atletico Mineiro vs Montevideo City Torque.
When is the second leg of Boca Juniors vs Vasco da Gama?
The second leg is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, with the kickoff at the same time. The stadium has not been confirmed yet.
