Former Everton star Leon Osman has stated that Jordan Pickford could prove to be the best buy of the summer.
Everton have been very active in the transfer market this summer recruiting the likes of Cuco Martina, Wayne Rooney, Sandro Ramirez, Michael Keane and Davy Klaassen.
Despite the arrival of such big names, Osman is however most excited about Pickford and said, “I saw him quite a few times at Sunderland last season and his distribution is up there with some outfield players, it’s a great string to have on your bow as a goalkeeper.
“Goalkeepers are there to make saves though, and some of them he made last season were point blank. He’s the type of keeper who will win you points, and if you have that he can potentially be the best signing of the summer, if he is there for the next 10 years or so.”
The 23-year-old Pickford joined the Toffees this summer after a series of impressive performances for Sunderland last season.
Due to such fine form for Sunderland, Pickford has also come to be regarded as a possible future first choice goalkeeper for the England national team.
Pickford became the most expensive Toffees signing in history when he joined from the Black Cats for £30 million.
