4. Marcos Rojo
If Rodgers wants to keep up with the theme of young, quick players with lots of potential for his transfers (aside from Rickie Lambert), Marcos Rojo fits the bill. The left-back has been a consistent starter during Argentina’s World Cup campaign, although he will be suspended for the semi-final against the Netherlands. He has shown an ability to assist in attack, while also tracking back to cover the space left behind him.
There have been times, however, where he was caught out of position. If Liverpool want to sign him, they must act fast, because Chelsea are seeking to add Rojo as a replacement for Ashley Cole and Felipe Luis according to GiveMeSport’s Pete South.
