3. Divock Origi
This deal seems to be done according to BBC’s Ben Smith; however, it looks like Origi will be loaned back to Lille as soon as the deal finishes. That should not tame the excitement fans should have about this Belgian striker. The 6’1″ forward has great dribbling skills for someone of his size, and he uses that skill to great effect: he likes to cut in from both wings even if he is usually positioned in the striker’s role.
He announced himself to the world this summer as he scored the winning goal against Russia after coming on as a substitute. He then started the high-profile match against the Americans, where his hold-up play and ability to shift positions constantly stretched their defense. He also made use of his height by directing a powerful header towards the goal, only to be denied by the crossbar. While Origi will not be a direct replacement for Luis Suarez if the controversial Uruguayan leaves for Spain for the upcoming season, knowing that a talent such as Origi will be coming to Anfield in the near future should have fans dreaming of his potential.
