FC Juarez vs Queretaro Match Recap

Queretaro arrived in ninth place and needing points for their Liguilla push. FC Juarez were already eliminated and bottom of the table, with five points from 14 matches.

Queretaro had a possible penalty checked by VAR in the opening minutes. The review ended with no penalty awarded, and the match stayed scoreless.

The home side struck first. Estupiñán headed in the opener after 16 minutes for his seventh league goal of the season.

Estupiñán came close to a second after 36 minutes, when his shot came back off the post. The second goal arrived anyway.

Madson finished after 38 minutes, with Denzell García providing the assist. FC Juarez went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

Queretaro had more of the ball after the break but created little from it. Their best spell produced corners rather than clear chances.

FC Juarez made a triple change just before the hour. Jairo Torres, José Luis Rodríguez and Luca Martínez Dupuy replaced Guilherme Castilho, Madson and Estupiñán.

The change settled the result. Rodríguez, one of the substitutes, scored the third goal after 82 minutes to put FC Juarez 3-0 ahead.

Avila replied for Queretaro after 88 minutes, assisted by Mateo Coronel. It was his sixth league goal of the season, and it came too late to change the outcome.

There were no red cards. Guilherme Castilho was booked for FC Juarez, and Mateo Coronel and Lucas Abascia were booked for Queretaro.

The win follows the 1-1 draw at Necaxa in Jornada 14. It is a first victory for FC Juarez since they beat Tigres UANL 2-0 on September 18, 2026.

Three Takeaways From FC Juarez vs Queretaro

1. FC Juarez finally win again

The five-match winless run is over. FC Juarez had gone 0W-2D-3L since the Tigres UANL win in Jornada 9, scoring three goals in those five matches.

They scored three in one night here. It does not change their season, but it lifts their total to eight points and gives Gustavo Lema a win to build on in the closing rounds.

2. Queretaro are sliding at the wrong time

This was a fourth consecutive defeat for Queretaro. The run started with a 5-0 loss at Santos Laguna and has now brought 13 goals conceded in four matches.

Queretaro stay on 20 points. With two rounds left after this one, plus their pending Jornada 7 match against Monterrey, they can still reach the top eight, but the margin for another slip is gone.

3. FC Juarez won the game that mattered in both boxes

Queretaro had 57 percent possession and won 10 corners to two. None of it produced a goal until the 88th minute.

FC Juarez put four of their six shots on target and scored from three of them. That finishing, not territory, decided the match.

What the Result Means

FC Juarez remain 18th and bottom of the Apertura 2026 table. They now have eight points from 15 matches, with two wins, two draws and 11 defeats.

Their elimination was already confirmed before this match. The remaining value of the result is points, pride, and a slightly better final total.

Queretaro are provisionally ninth with 20 points from 14 matches. They are level on points with eighth-place Monterrey, who hold the final Liguilla place on goal difference and have played one match fewer.

That position is provisional. Jornada 15 still has matches to play this weekend, and the table can still move around Queretaro.

There is no Play-In in the Apertura 2026. Only the top eight reach the Liguilla quarterfinals, so ninth place, where Queretaro sit tonight, is not enough.
