Raúl Jiménez is three weeks into his recovery from surgery on his left knee, and supporters have seen almost every step.
Wolves still expect him back in January 2027. His Instagram posts show the road so far.
The Message Before Surgery
Jiménez had surgery on Friday, October 16 in London, to repair the medial collateral ligament in his left knee, injured against Everton on September 16.
FutnSoccer covered the decision on October 14, when Jiménez was ruled out of Mexico’s Nations League quarterfinal against Jamaica.
That day, Jiménez posted a bilingual message ending: “Volveré. Y volveré más fuerte que nunca.” In English: “I’ll be back. And I’ll be stronger than ever.”
Day One After Surgery
On surgery day, Jiménez posted a photo from his hospital bed. His caption began: “Day 1. Everything went well during the surgery.”
He thanked everyone for their support, and celebrated a 2-1 Wolves win at Burnley that day.
On October 17, he shared a photo on crutches: “Day 1 Post-Surgery. One day closer to coming back stronger.”
Back to Work at the Training Ground
On October 19, Jiménez was back at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground: “Back to work, small first steps on the road to recovery.”
The post showed strap and stretching work, the muscle maintenance stage set out for his first two weeks.
Phil Hayward laid out the plan on October 14. After two weeks, Jiménez could move to gym and pool work, building toward full weight-bearing around week four.
One Week In, Then a Chamber at Home
On October 22, a rehab video showed Jiménez on a treatment table doing his first knee lifts, with medical staff alongside.
On October 23, he marked one week since the operation: “One week post-surgery. One step closer.”
On October 27, a post from CryoCube showed Jiménez on crutches beside a hyperbaric oxygen chamber at his home.
The company said the chamber “will be used as part of his MCL surgery rehabilitation journey.” TUDN reported it a day later.
Where the Recovery Stands
November 4 is 19 days after the surgery. Jiménez is past the plan’s opening stage, with gym and pool work next.
Wolves have published no new timeline since October 14. Team news before Bristol City still listed him as out until January.
January is a club expectation, based on around three months of rehabilitation. It is not a guarantee.
General guidance can run longer. The Hospital for Special Surgery says at least six months is often necessary after MCL surgery before competitive athletics.
Wolves Cope, Mexico Wait
Jiménez scored three goals, with one assist, in his first six Championship appearances back at Wolves.
Wolves are unbeaten in five league matches. On Wednesday, Sean Neave scored in the 82nd and 89th minutes as they won 2-1 at Bristol City to move up to second.
Mexico have no such cover. Jiménez is out of the Nations League quarterfinals against Jamaica, in Kingston on November 14 and Monterrey on November 17.
