BBC pundit Mark Schwarzer was critical of Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after a mistake from the Frenchman prevented Spurs from claiming a clean sheet during their 5-1 victory against Stoke City on Saturday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men returned to form and claimed a convincing win through an own goal from Ryan Shawcross, a goal from Heung-Min Son, a brace from Harry Kane and a strike from Christian Eriksen.
However Stoke managed to score a consolation after Shawcross redeemed himself for his own goal with a header after keeper Lloris was left stranded from a corner.
Schwarzer believes that Lloris should have done better and caused the goal.
“Hugo Lloris has got to do better – when you come for the ball you’ve got to get there,” Schwarzer said on 5 Live Sport, as quoted by BBC Sport’s matchday commentary.
“Instead it was a simple Ryan Shawcross header into an empty net, with Stoke at least now on the scoresheet.”
