Jermaine Jenas is not impressed with Serge Aurier and believes that the defender could be becoming a liability to Tottenham.
Jenas said: “He’s a weird one. He does things in a game which are brilliant, but he has this other side to his game where he does mad things. He’s becoming a liability.”
Aurier started at right –back for Spurs during their Champions League fixture against APOEL Nicosia on Wednesday and was lucky to have not received his marching orders.
Aurier set up Spurs first goal of the night when he put in a fine cross for Fernando Llorente. He was however lucky to not be sent off as with Spurs leading comfortably, he stamped on an APOEL attacker.
Since arriving at Spurs during the summer, the former PSG man has shown flashes of brilliance though he has proven to be inconsistent.
Aurier is currently competing with Kieran Trippier for the first choice right –back position at Spurs and at the moment, it is Trippier who looks to be the better option.
