Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has admitted that his side are under pressure following their recent run of underwhelming performances in the Premier League.
Spurs played to a 1-1 draw against Watford on Saturday and a draw was the best that they could have hoped for after Davinson Sanchez was given a red card for putting a forearm into the face of Richarlison.
Spurs already look to be out of the title race this season and could face a battle in order to win a place in the top four. Vertonghen has now accepted that his side will have to work hard just to get their season back on track.
“We have to get back to winning ways and we know that,” said Vertonghen.
“We had a run where we had to win a couple of games and we didn’t so I suppose the pressure is a little bit more, but we know we can win these games.”
