Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has dismissed speculation suggesting that Harry Kane could move to Real Madrid by suggesting that the player is inspired by Italian legend Francesco Totti.
Pochettino also brushed off suggestions that he could one day leave Spurs by claiming that he would sign a 15 year contract at the club if he could and adding that he can never manage Barcelona because of his involvement with Espanyol.
Totti played for Roma for 24 years before retiring from the game at the end of last season. He is a cult hero at the club and Pochettino thinks that Kane could become a similar kind of player for Spurs.
Pochettino said: “The most important thing is that Harry is happy at Tottenham and in the future who knows where we’ll be? But he enjoys Tottenham, he comes from the academy, he identifies with the club. Only football knows the future.
“For me, he’s a player who likes scoring, he loves the Tottenham shirt and was excited when he saw Totti’s farewell in Rome and that created extra motivation.”
