Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has defended defender Serge Aurier though he did add that the player needs to watch himself after he earned a red-card during Spurs 3-2 victory against West Ham on Saturday.
The Ivory Coast international was given a red-card during the second half of the game following two reckless challenges on Andy Carroll.
Spurs were leading 3-1 at the time of Aurier’s red-card and it allowed the Hammers to come back into the game as Cheikhou Kouyate scored to reduce the deficit to one goal.
Aurier has a reputation for being a player who misbehaves as he did at previous club PSG and he will need to remedy this if he wishes to succeed in England.
Whilst talking about the players red-card, Pochettino said, “I cannot blame him. I cannot blame anyone when this type of situation happens because I was a player and you can find on Google many, many mistakes from me.
“It’s not easy to keep calm. Me on the touchline, it was the same. Sometimes you make a mistake but that is football. There’s no problem.”
