According to reports, Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez has turned down offers from Napoli and Tottenham to remain at the Camp Nou.
The 23-year-old Suarez was signed by the Catalan giants from the Manchester City youth development system in 2013 and was seen as a top prospect for the future.
The Spain under-21 international was sent on loan to Sevilla for the 2014-15 season and was sold to Villarreal last summer.
After an impressive season with the Yellow Submarine, he had the opportunity to take up offers from Spurs and Napoli. However Barcelona exercised their buy-back clause to re-sign the player and he opted to re-join the club.
The Catalans had only paid €3.25 million plus add ons though they set a €50 million release clause to ward off other parties.
Should Barcelona make further midfield reinforcements before the transfer deadline, Suarez could be set to find regular game time hard to come by and Tottenham might still have a chance.
