Everton have finally completed the signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson in a club record deal worth to be in the region of £45 million.
The Iceland international has signed a five year contract at Goodison Park and becomes the Merseyside clubs eighth new signing of the summer.
The 27-year-old Sigurdsson is a good addition to Ronald Koeman’s side, who will aim to challenge for a place in the top six during the upcoming season.
Following the completion of the move, he said, “Hopefully I will continue to create goals and score goals for the team and contribute to the kind of success we’re seeking at the club.
“This is an ambitious club and it is clear we are moving in a really good direction. The most important thing is that this team keeps winning games and climbing the table – and does that throughout the season.”
Sigurdsson joins the likes of Wayne Rooney, Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaassen and Sandro Ramirez in arriving at Goodison Park this summer.
