According to Football-Italia, Tottenham will have to splash the cash if they are to have any chance of landing Sampdoria Patrik Schick.
The 21-year-old Czech international has a release clause in the region of £20million, and could have completed a £26million move to Juventus last month had he not failed his medical due to a heart problem.
Schick has since returned to training, and suitors have been given another chance to snap him up.
Alongside Roma, Napoli and Monaco, Spurs have also shown interest in the young striking sensation who registered 11 goals and 3 assists in 14 Serie A starts in his first campaign with Sampdoria last season.
“I will not comment on any specific club,” agent Pavel Paska told said about his clients’ interest and price tag.
“We need to agree the next step with Sampdoria, seeing as the (€25m) release clause expired on July 15. One thing is for certain, the price for the player will be considerably higher than the release clause.
“There are three clubs in the running. The transfer window in Italy runs until August 31. At the moment we are only at the starting line.”
The North London giants want a quality cover and competition for back-to-back Premier League goal king Harry Kane, and manager Mauricio Pochettino reckons the in-demand Schick could prove to be a good buy.
Despite being an out-and-out striker, the Czech kid is most dangerous outside the six-yard box, with his long-range efforts lethal as they come.
Schick also regularly creates goalscoring chances for teammates due to his ability to thread key passes, and would no doubt be a very solid striking option for Spurs.
Given his quality, he won’t come cheap, and the Wembley outfit will have to get the cheque book out if they desire him.
