Tottenham reportedly keen on £18million-rated Confederations Cup star as replacement for Walker

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham have eyes on Bayer Leverkusen defender Benjamin Henrichs as they seek to replace the departed Kyle Walker.

The Bundesliga outfit aren’t keen to lose the gifted right-back, though, but could listen to offers in the region of £18million.

Henrichs is also being targeted by Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but with a place in the German national team squad for next year’s World Cup his big dream, agreeing a move to a side where he has realistic chances of regular first team football is paramount.

The 20-year-old played 37 games across all competitions last term, and his extraordinary performances earned him a call up to the Germany national team squad that won the Confederations Cup.

Tottenham do need another quality right-back ahead of next term, and Henrichs ticks all the boxes.

His dribbling abilities, explosive pace, timely ball intercepting and tackling are perfect for Spurs’ style of play.

The Germany international can also play as a left-back, making him a 2-in-1 bargain if landed.
