Tottenham star says his side now have to amend this season’s ambitions

Hugo Lloris

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris admitted that his team’s chances of winning the Premier League this season are now effectively over after their 2-0 loss to Liverpool on Saturday and that they should now shift their focus onto finishing in the top four.

The North London Club were dominated by Liverpool and never showed any signs of troubling the Merseyside club.

Sadio Mane’s brace in as many minutes during the first half consigned Spurs to their first defeat in two months and leaves them ten points behind League leaders Chelsea.

Manchester United who are chasing a Champions League spot are just two points behind Spurs and Lloris did mention that his team will need to be wary of this.

“Before thinking about the title, we need to think about the teams behind us because they are all top clubs with top players and they are used to playing for the top four, for trophies,” Lloris told the London Evening Standard.
