Agent speaks about the future of 22-year-old at Tottenham Hotspur

Vincent Janssen’s agent has confirmed that Tottenham rejected a bid from Turkish club Galatasary to sign him on loan (via ESPN). Since his arrival from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar for £17 million during the summer, Janssen has failed to establish himself at Spurs.

All in all, he has played 25 matches in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists. The Netherlands international scored his sole Premier League goal against reigning Champions Leicester City last October.

Considering the hefty amount that was paid to lure Janssen to White Hart Lane, one can presume that a lot more was expected from him. Clubs usually will only fork out that sum of money when they feel that a player can deliver instantaneously for them.

However in the case of Janssen, he has not lived up to expectations. One can presume that Tottenham will be open to listening to offers for him during the summer.
