According to reports from Spanish publication Don Balon, Chelsea are planning a £13.3 million swoop for Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel.
Chelsea endured a shaky period not long ago this season and there were even talks of crisis at the club following the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
Following the humiliation at the Emirates Stadium though, Chelsea have arguably been the best team in the Premier League and are currently on a fine five match winning streak.
The wonderful run means that many have been convinced of Chelsea’s title credentials during the current campaign but nonetheless, one suspects that the Blues will have to further strengthen their squad in order to lift the title.
Muriel heading to Chelsea?
Manager Antonio Conte seems to be well aware of this fact and it is believed that the Italian has already shortlisted a number of targets to follow during the upcoming January transfer window.
Bringing in a striker seems to be one of the priorities for Chelsea and now according to reports from Spanish publication Don Balon, it has been claimed that the Premier League giants are considering a swoop for Luis Muriel.
Muriel is currently plying his trade for Sampdoria and has been in good form this season, scoring 6 goals in 13 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A side.
Such form has seen Muriel attracting the interest from a number of clubs across Europe and reports have claimed that Chelsea are ready to spend around £13.3 million to lure the Colombian international to Stamford Bridge this winter.
