Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino does not feel that Cesc Fabregas would be a good fit at West Ham United.
Fabregas enjoyed a dream debut season at Chelsea after arriving from Barcelona and he played a crucial role in helping the Blues claim the Premier League title.
In stark contrast though, the Spanish international endured a terrible campaign last term and was even blamed for getting Jose Mourinho sacked from his role as manager of Chelsea.
The current campaign has proven to be difficult for Fabregas once again as he has been unable to nail down a regular spot in Antonio Conte’s starting lineup and there has been speculation that the Italian boss could be willing to part with the 29-year-old in the foreseeable future.
A number of clubs have understandably been linked with a move for Fabregas and in surprise reports from the Daily Mirror recently, claims were made that the ex-Arsenal star was being eyed up by West Ham United.
The speculation seems to have certainly caused a stir in England, and now former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has gone on to give his thoughts regarding Fabregas’ prospective move to the Olympic Stadium.
He explained that West Ham do not require the services of Fabregas due to the presence of Manuel Lanzini and Dimitri Payet and added that even if the transfer were to go through, the midfielder would not be a good fit at the club.
Cascarino told talkSPORT, “I can’t see how Lanzini, Payet and then you want to bring in Fabregas into a football club. I don’t see it. I don’t think that will be a good fit.”
