Chelsea have entered the race to sign Atletico Madrid star Antonie Griezmann, according to reports from the Daily Telegraph
Chelsea were very active in the summer transfer window and the squad which Antonio Conte has managed to assemble looks strong enough to be able to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
However, Conte is a manager who seems to be at Chelsea for the long haul and the 47-year-old is already reportedly eyeing up targets to pursue for next summer.
According to various claims, Conte is believed to be plotting a double swoop for Thiago Maia and Niklas Sule, and now the Telegraph have claimed that the Italian boss also wants Antoine Griezmann at Stamford Bridge.
It had been revealed recently that Manchester United identified Griezmann as the replacement for Wayne Rooney but now even Chelsea are said to have joined in the race to sign the French superstar.
Griezmann allegedly has a £84 million release clause present on his contract but Chelsea are intending to sign the striker for a much lower fee and are hopeful of tempting Atletico Madrid to sell by offering Diego Costa as the bargaining chip
