Tottenham boss Redknapp explains why Kane will not join Real Madrid

Harry Kane

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that he cannot see Harry Kane leaving the club to join Real Madrid.

Kane has developed a reputation as being one of the most lethal forwards currently in World football after finishing as the Premier League’s top goal scorer during the past two seasons.

Madrid are renowned for being a club that signs the World’s best players while at peak and there is a good chance that their interest in the England international could become very serious if he continues with his good run of form.

Some have also speculated that the player could eventually leave Spurs if the club continues to fail to win major silverware.

Redknapp has now revealed that he cannot see the 24 year old joining Madrid, saying, “No one could dislike Harry Kane. He is a model professional. I was lucky enough to manage him as a young player and he is different class.

“He wouldn’t be a boy thinking he wants £200,000 or £300,000-a-week. He is happy at Spurs. They love him. He will end up as captain, I’m sure. It is a great club to be at.

“Daniel [Levy, the chairman] needs to look after him and make sure his contract is up there with a player of his stature deserves and I’m sure he will.”But I wouldn’t see him wanting to bang the door down and leave Tottenham in a hurry.”
