Arsenal legend Parlour explains why he is worried for Tottenham midfielder

Ray Parlour has stated that he is concerned over whether Harry Winks will gain regular game time at Tottenham this season due to the fierce midfield competition that is taking place at the club.

Winks enjoyed a successful past week as he went on to make two starts against Apoel Nicosia in the Champions League and against Huddersfield in the Premier League and his performances earned him a call up to the England squad by Gareth Southgate.

Despite a good week, Winks is still considered a squad rotation player and could struggle for regular matches in the near future. He still have to compete against the likes of Victor Wanyama, Eric Dier, MoussaSissoko and Mousa Dembele for match time.

Parlour feels that Winks has what it takes to become a top player but added that the player could miss out on regular playing time this season due to the competition that he faces. He said, “I think Harry Winks is going to be a top star.

“I think he’s a really good back up (for England) and he’s still learning. I’m sure he’s enjoying playing for Spurs when he gets his opportunities.

“But they have got a very good midfield once they’re all fit, Spurs. So it’s going to be difficult for Harry to get lots of game time.”
