Kyle Walker sends a message to the Tottenham fans

Kyle Walker has said that Tottenham will always be in his heart despite having left the club this summer to join Manchester City.

The 27-year-old Walker left Spurs this summer for £50 million and in the process became the World’s most expensive defender.

One of the reasons cited for him leaving was that he was unhappy at having lost his place within the Spurs team to Kieran Trippier. The prospect of earning higher wages at the Etihad Stadium would have also been very tempting.

During his eight years with Spurs, Walker went on to play more than 180 times  for the club. His decision to leave Spurs was not received well by fans and he will be likely to get a negative reception when the North London club faces off against City in December.

Walker has however admitted that he still has a connection with Spurs and said, “They were the ones that gave me my Premier League opportunity – they believed in me.

“I’m not going to sit here and lie and say it wasn’t tough. Having spent eight years there, that club is in my heart. I’m not going to deny that – Tottenham is in my heart.”
