Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has revealed that he in inspired and not intimidated by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Kane has established himself as one of the top strikers in World football during recent seasons and is viewed as a possible candidate who could break the ten year stronghold of Ronaldo and Messi over the Ballon d’Or award.
After a disappointing August, Kane hit top form this month and has notched eight goals in six games this month.
Should Kane manage to out-score Ronaldo and Messi during this seasons Champions League then surely even his harshest critics will have to admit that he is among the World’s best players.
When asked if he is chasing the records of Messi and Ronaldo, the 24-year-old Kane said, “With social media these days, it’s difficult to stay away from it. Everyone is tweeting this thing or that thing and you see it.
“Obviously, I want to be one of the best players in the world, so people put it up and I see I am close to those players, and it is a great incentive to get closer and go to the next step. I use it, yes.
“I want to be one of the best in the world and to do that you have to stay up with the best and I want to score goals and maintain my form, and that’s what it is about, staying consistent at the top level.”
