Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has blasted Tottenham defender Serge Aurier for being erratic during his Premier League debut on Saturday against West Ham.
The Ivorian did not enjoy the best of starts to life at the North London club after he earned himself a red card following his second booking during the second half whilst the Lillywhites had a 3-1 lead.
Aurier made some foolish decisions during the game and was given his marching orders following two challenges on Andy Carroll.
Spurs nevertheless managed to win the game through a brace from in-form striker Harry Kane and a goal from Christian Eriksen.
Whilst discussing the performance of Aurier, Redknapp said, “It comes down to intelligence. When you’ve been booked, you have to stay on your feet.
“He looked like he had no understanding of the Premier League today. Everything he did from a defensive and attacking point of view, he was all over the place.”
Aurier will surely need to learn how to adapt to the English game and behave properly if he wishes to succeed at his new club.
