Ex-Liverpool star Danny Murphy hails these two Tottenham signings

Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy believes that Fernando Llorente and Serge Aurier are excellent signings for Tottenham.

Spurs managed to land the veteran Spanish striker this summer from Swansea for £15 million and they usurped Chelsea, who were previously considered favorites to sign the player.

Former Juventus striker Llorente will be expected to provide competition and support to Harry Kane. Aurier meanwhile, arrived from French giants PSG and is a replacement for Kyle Walker, who joined Manchester City this summer for £50million.

Though Aurier is a talented player, he is no stranger to controversy and Mauricio Pochettino will have to aim to keep him disciplined.

Murphy believes that both signings are excellent for the North London club and said, “Llorente should be excellent back-up for Harry Kane but, if Tottenham are chasing the game, they could play together.

“Spurs face a lot of defensively minded teams so Llorente will allow them to get balls into the box from wide – and there is nothing wrong with playing that way when required.

“I also like the look of Serge Aurier. He has been a decent full-back and is an excellent athlete, so he should be able to cope with the physical side of English football.”
