Former Chelsea striker reveals why he made surprise summer move

Loic Remy has revealed that it was Kevin Prince-Boateng who advised him to join Las Palmas.

Remy had been linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers  after falling down the pecking order at Chelsea and the he Championship club were looking to recruit him in order to boost their chances of launching a promotion push this season.

He surprisingly joined Las Palmas instead and revealed that it was Kevin Prince-Boateng, who played for Las Palmas last season, who influenced him into joining the Spanish side.

Remy said, “I am very happy to come here and I hope to do things with this team in La Liga. My goal was to play again and enjoy my football.

“I am looking forward to playing my first match. I hear the team are technical and play very fast. I did not know much about Las Palmas but Prince told me not to think twice about it.”

After a disappointing three year spell with Chelsea during which he scored 12 goals from 47 matches in all competitions, Remy will be looking to rediscover his instinct for goal with Las Palmas.
