West Ham defender positive regarding new signings despite humbling defeat

West Ham defender Winston Reid has said that he believes that his club’s new signings will help the poor form of the club going forward.

The Hammers were defeated 4-0 by Manchester United during the past weekend. During the game, manager Slaven Bilic handed debuts to the experienced quartet of Javier Hernandez, Pablo Zabaleta, Joe Hart and Marko Arnautovic.

Though the new signings did not manage to help the club avoid defeat on the day, the New Zealand international Reid is confident that they will make a difference for the club going forward and said, “It does help that the players we have signed have played in the Premier League before,”

“I’m sure that, once we get things gelling and have had another week working hard on the training pitch, we’ll be a lot better. The new players have fitted in perfectly and they’ll help us move forward.”

The Hammers next take on Southampton on Saturday.
