Celtic’s chances of re-signing youngster Patrick Roberts on loan from Manchester City appear to be fading after the 20-year-old was included in City’s squad for a training camp in Catalonia.
Brendan Rodgers is keen to re-sign Roberts after he performed well during an 18 month stint with the Hoops. Rodgers became a fan favorite at Parkhead last season after helping the Hoops to win a domestic unbeaten treble.
It remains to be seen whether Rodgers will remain with City this season and be made to fight for a place in the team.
However it has been reported that Pep Guardiola prefers to loan the youngster out to a Premiership team or a team that plays in one of Europe’s major Leagues.
The Citizens will not be short of loan options for the player as Southampton and Ligue 1 outfit Nice are said to be keen on landing him for this season.
