Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen has defended his team’s lack of spending in the transfer market thus far and claimed that they have what it takes to win major silverware without spending heavily.
The North London club are the only team in the Premier League that have not added any players to their squad. Thus far, their only activity this summer was selling Kyle Walker to Manchester City.
Spurs have narrowly missed out on winning the Premier League title for the past two seasons and many have said that Mauricio Pochettino’s side need to make new squad additions if they want to win major silverware.
However, Eriksen does not think so and has defended his team’s lack of activity thus far this summer saying, “I don’t think you need to spend to win something. It’s just a matter of how you see a team, how the players are.
“Only Walker has left in our team and we know what we did last season, so I can’t see why we shouldn’t be able to do hopefully even better than last season. Of course it might be different, but hopefully not.”
