According to reports, Tottenham are finding negotiations with Porto difficult over a sale of Ricardo Pereira.
Spurs currently need to sign a new right back following the departure of Kyle Walker to Manchester City for £50 million.
Kieran Trippier, who is expected to be the first choice right back for the upcoming season, will need competition and backup from an experienced player.
While youngster Kyle Walker-Peters is highly rated, he is inexperienced and arguably not as yet ready to feature for Mauricio Pochettino’s first team on a regular basis.
Therefore, Pereira will be a good option to replace Walker and he is also versatile player who can operate on the right flank as well as a left wing back.
Porto are however said to be wanting the value of the players’ release clause which is £22 million and this is said to be making things difficult for Spurs.
The 23-year-old Pereira spent the last two seasons with Nice and impressed with the French Ligue 1 outfit, scoring two goals and notching four assists in the process.
