Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted to being disappointed after his club drew 0-0 to struggling club Sunderland on Tuesday. The loss meant that Tottenham fell a further two points behind log leaders Chelsea in their pursuit of Premier League glory.
Though the draw meant that Tottenham overtook Arsenal in the standings on goal differences, it was a change to capitalize on Chelsea’s 9 point lead as they drew 1-1 with Liverpool.
Tottenham have been on good form recently and last lost a match in mid-December. They have taken 20 points out of a possible 24 and will be very confident in terms of obtaining a Champions League place.
Considering that Sunderland are very much a team in disarray at the moment this was a glorious opportunity for Tottenham to cut down Chelsea’s lead and they did not take advantage of it.
Unless Chelsea have a catastrophic decline in form which is unlikely, they should ease to the Premier League title this season.
