Top 5 Contenders for Manchester United Player of the Season

1. Anthony Martial

“Tony Martial came from France, English press said he had no chance, 50 million down the drain, as Tony Martial scores again”

Anthony Martial. And there we have it folks. Have a good day.

Seriously, this man has been outstanding. He has had a superb debut season being a consistent threat to every opponent. He silenced his critics right away with a stunning individual goal against Liverpool to open his account.

He followed that with 3 goals in the next 3 games. His pace and refined ability makes him one of the toughest little players to play against in the premier league. Scoring the winner against Everton in the FA Cup semi-final to keep United’s cup dreams alive in Fergie time was hands down one of the best moments of the season.

The passionate celebrations he brings to the team makes it feels as if he has been playing at the Theatre of Dreams for many years!

Turning just 20 in December mind boggles everyone that much more as his maturity and ability makes him on of the best players at the club, adding to his wonderful debut season and instantly becoming a fans favourite now and for many years to come.

Honourable Mentions

Here is a honourable mention to the some of the youth players who have taken their opportunities well in the first team and are definitely some to watch for the future.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Guillermo Varela, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Marcus Rashford all impressed the fans and the manager after making their debut for Manchester United this season. A big shout out to Fosu-Mensah and Marcus Rashford in particular who seem to be well and truly integrating their places into the first team. Well-played lads.
