This past Tuesday, Dec. 17, Chivas de Guadalajara officially announced the signing of Jesus Angulo. The 22-year-old winger is coming from Necaxa like several other players that Chivas have acquired this offseason.

The Culican native had what was arguably his best Liga MX season in the 2019 Apertura with 17 games played and four goals scored. Angulo started off his professional career in the Xolos’ youth academy, but, appeared in his first professional game with Dorados de Sinaloa.

“Canelo” did great with his hometown team in the Mexican second division, but struggled once Dorados achieved promotion to the Liga MX. Angulo then received another opportunity in the top-flight with the Tijuana Xolos in the 2018 Apertura season.

The Sinaloa-born player had a few nice seasons with Club Tijuana as a role player and was then signed by Necaxa this last season. Angulo has recently generated attention from the Mexico national team and seems to have a very bright future ahead of him.

It seems that the 22-year-old will compete for a starting role, but will not be a consistent starter just yet. Angulo provides a lot going forward with his speed and also has decent dribbling abilities as well.
