Mexico is one of the heavy favorites to win the Gold Cup this year as it is in any year of the competition. El Tri still have the best team in the CONCACAF region even without a few star players that will be missing the tournament.

Cuba is one of the most limited teams in the region and has virtually no chance in this match. The islanders are known much more for their baseball players than their footballers as all the players on the current Gold Cup squad play in Caribbean and Central American teams.
