This Tuesday, January 8, 2019, Liga MX team Necaxa officially announced the signing of 30-year-old striker Eduardo Herrera. “Lalo” had previously played in Scotland with Rangers, where he struggled heavily, scoring just one goal in 18 appearances.
Herrera had been brought over to Scotland by Pedro Caixinha, who had a short stint as the Rangers’ boss with disappointing results. The Mexican forward was also very disappointing as he scored just two goals in all competitions in his tenure with the Glasgow side.
Herrera will now try to revive his career in the Liga MX, where he has already scored 47 career goals in the span of six years. “Lalo” lived the best moments of his career with Pumas UNAM, where he scored 57 goals in all competitions in over 180 appearances. The Mexican striker also played with Santos Laguna and Veracruz, where he failed to make a significant impact.

The Mexico City native will be reunited with his former manager Guillermo Vazquez, who debuted him at Pumas UNAM in 2011. Necaxa has a limited roster, especially in the attack with the recent departure of Victor Davila, who joined Pachuca.
