Monarcas Morelia had a very quiet offseason and arguably are now a worse team than last season after losing Diego Valdes, Carlos Guzman and Gerardo Rodriguez. La Monarquia did add Alberto Acosta, Candido Ramirez and Carlos Morales, but may struggle without any key signings in the attack.
The team from Michoacan narrowly missed out on the playoffs last season and could still be a decent team this season with players like Sebastian Vegas, Sebastian Sosa and Sebastian Ferreira. Vegas is arguably Morelia’s best player as he is a solid defender and can also score goals off set pieces and from long range.
Toluca has been one of the busier teams in this transfer window with big signings and big losses as well heading into the 2019 Clausura. Los Diablos Rojos added Leonel Lopez, Felipe Pardo, Carlos Esquivel and Emanuel Gigliotti, but lost Rubens Sambueza, Alexis Vega and Luis Quinones.
Gigliotti will also not be available for this match as his transfer does not seem to be fully completed just yet. However, Hernan Cristante still has solid attackers like Alexis Canelo and Enrique Triverio that can fill in.
