Arsenal reportedly overtake Liverpool in the race for German starlet

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is determined to sign the highly-rated Schalke playmaker, Max Meyer, who is closely being monitored by Liverpool and AC Milan in the recent times.

The French expert is reportedly looking to further improve his midfield ranks for the next season, and fellow Germans Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi could also play their role in luring the 22-year-old prodigy to Emirates.

Meyer’s contract is running out at the end of the current campaign, and it seems that he has no intention of staying at the Veltins-Arena, which put the Premier League giants on red alert.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is desperate to reinforce his midfield ranks, considering the unconvincing performances provided by Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana, and the fact he is going to lose Emre Can once his contract with the Reds expires next summer.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund coach should hurry up if they want to sign Meyer because the Gunners are not playing around.
