Liverpool reportedly eye German prodigy as Coutinho’s replacement

According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have identified Schalke starlet, Max Meyer, as a prime target for the summer transfer window.

After losing Leon Goretzka to Bayern Munich, Schalke are desperate to keep the 22-year-old midfielder, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

One of the most talented players in the Bundesliga, Meyer has drawn the attention from several major European clubs, including Barcelona, Arsenal, and AC Milan.

Nonetheless, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has great affection for the German players, and after dropping his interest in AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, he is determined to make the talented star the Reds new playmaker.

The Merseysiders will try to reinforce their attacking ranks before the next season’s kick off, especially because Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah don’t have suitable replacements.

Meyer has been brilliant since breaking into the Schalke’s first-team, establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in Germany, and he could be an excellent addition to the Liverpool squad.
