As per the The Sun, West Ham and Leicester City will duel for the signature of Celtic loan-signing Patrick Roberts come summer, with Manchester City set to finally cash in on the 21-year-old winger.
The English youngster is currently on another long temporary spell at the Parkhead club, and after being linked with a player-plus-cash deal in a move that would have seen the Foxes’ Riyad Mahrez move to the Etihad Stadium last month, a £15million sale appears to be on the cards ahead of next season.
Celtic wish to land Roberts on a permanent basis, but are definitely not able to table Manchester City’s valuation of the starlet once the incoming bidding war begins.
Leicester City reckon Mahrez will finally leave by summer after submitting a transfer request in the last 2 transfer windows, and they see Roberts as a player capable of growing into a lethal attacking threat going forward.
After missing out on him when he switched Fulham for City years ago and also during the last window, West Ham will attempt to bring the England youth international back to London once more.
French outfit Nice are also keen on Roberts, and the highest bidder by summer will likely emerge top of the tussle.
