OFFICIAL: Liverpool complete the signing of quality South American defender

Anfield

According to the ESPN, Liverpool have signed talented Colombian defender Anderson Arroyo from Fortaleza CEIF for an undisclosed fee after a month of negotiations.

However, the 18-year-old youngster still doesn’t have a work permit, and the Reds have decided to send him on an 18-month-loan to the Spanish Segunda B team Mallorca to gain some experience and possibly get the necessary papers.

The highly-rated talent has been astonishing since breaking into the Colombian side’s first team, drawing the attention from Jurgen Klopp. Described as a powerful left-back with tremendous speed and excellent crossing abilities, Arroyo can also operate as a left-winger equally well.

The Merseysiders are experiencing great troubles with their left-backs, as Alberto Moreno has failed to live up to expectations, and Andrew Robertson is yet to convince Klopp.

Therefore, the German expert might be forced to go for a new left-sided defender while waiting for Arroyo to return to Anfield.
