Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has defended referee Jon Moss and his assistants after his side were awarded two penalties during their 2-2 Premier League draw against Liverpool on Saturday.
The game looked headed for a 1-1 draw after Mo Salah scored during the third minute and Victor Wanyama came off the bench to equalize in the 80th minute.
Following a thrilling final few minutes, the game ended off in a 2-2 draw as Spurs were awarded two penalties.
The first was awarded as Loris Karius was adjudged to have brought down Harry Kane in the area but the striker was denied from the spot by the German keeper.
Salah then went on to score his second of the game to seemingly seal the three points for the Reds.
Kane however made amends for his earlier penalty miss as he converted the second spot-kick after Virgil van Dijk was judged to have brought down Eric Lamela in the area.
“It was a fantastic game to watch. I was calm, because I think the team played very well,” Pochttino said. “The feeling is that we dropped two points. We were much, much, much better than Liverpool.
“Both were a penalty and there is nothing else to say. It is not controversial – it is nothing. Sometimes people complain about the referee, but when they are right it is good to tell everyone. It is clear how van Dijk kicked Lamela in the box. It is an easy decision.”
