According to the Mirror, Derby County striker Chris Martin will have to decide over the next few days if he wishes to join Sunderland on loan.
Martin has fallen down the pecking order at the Rams and is a target of the Black Cats who are in desperate need of a new striker after their top scorer Lewis Grabban left to re-join his parent club Bournemouth.
Martin was reportedly in talks with Sunderland earlier on this month over a possible move to the Stadium of Light, but since then there have been no further developments.
Martin will likely see his playing time significantly increased should he move to the Black Cats, given that Chris Coleman’s side are struggling to avoid relegation from th Championship and need all of the talent that they can get in order to avoid the drop.
Martin is however said to not be keen on a move to the Stadium of Light. It would see him swapping Derby’s promotion push for a relegation battle.
