According to the Daily Express, Leeds United are on the verge of signing the prosperous Ajax defender Pascal Struijk.
The same source have announced the 18-year-old centre-back will be immediately sent to Leeds Under-23 squad to gain experience and game time.
Struijk has performed for Ajax youth team and Holland U-17 squad, where he showed great potential. However, the talented youngster has never got the chance of playing with the Lancers first-team.
Leeds are fighting Premier League promotion this season, and it would be extremely difficult for the youngster to find his place in the senior squad immediately. Nonetheless, the Whites manager Thomas Christiansen has touted Struijk as one for the future.
The latest reports claim the teenager arrived in England yesterday to complete his transfer to the ranks of Leeds.
Struijk will be Leeds’ fifth signing this January, after Adam Forshaw, Laurens De Bock, Aapo Halme, and Yosuke Ideguchi all arrived at Elland Road earlier this month.
