According to reports, Sunderland misfit Jack Rodwell is currently on trial with Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem.
The midfielder has now future at the Stadium of Light and the Black Cats have told him that they are prepared to release him from his £70,000-a-week contract and let him leave for nothing.
The former England national team and Manchester City player is expected to remain in Holland and should he impress during his trial, he will win a contract with Vitesse.
However they will not be able to match the wages that he earned at Sunderland and it remains to be seen if Rodwell will be prepared to take a salary cut in order to revive his career.
Black Cats boss Chris Coleman has informed Rodwell that he is not part of the clubs future plans, but the 26-year-old is not prepared to leave just as yet till he receives a firm offer from a club that will b willing to take him on.
