Ex-Beskitas manager wants Everton star to fail at Goodison

Former Besiktas manager John Toshack has revealed that he wants striker CenkTosun to fail at Goodisan Park.

Tosun arrived at the Toffees this month in a £27 million deal from Besiktas in order to help the club curb their woes in front of goal and he has so far managed to make a promising start to life at the club.

Tosun became a fan-favourite at the Turkish giants before securing his move to Sam Allardyce’s club.

The 26-year-old played a key role in helping Besiktas secure back to back Turkish Super Lig titles and also helped the club to top their Champions League group this season.

“I do not know Cenk Tosun and have not had the chance to watch him closely but Everton paid a lot for him and I have heard good things about him,” said Toshack, quoted on turkish-football.com.

“But I am a hardcore Liverpool fan and Everton are our biggest rivals so I would rather he doesn’t do well.”
