According to reports, Tottenham are planning a last minute raid on Atletico Madrid for striker Kevin Gamiero.
Harry Kane has struggled to receive support and competition up front. Last season, Vincent Janssen was below par and this season, the same can be said of Fernando Llorente.
The 30-year-old Gamiero was a £25 million target of Swansea but he told the Welsh club that he was not interested in a move despite efforts being made by deal-fixer Jorge Mendes.
Turkish club Fenerbahce are also interested in the attacker but he wants to weigh up all of the options that he has before making a decision on his future.
Atletico would prefer to sell Gamiero as they have too many forwards within their first team and he is also now at an age where his transfer value will start to drop rapidly the longer that they keep him.
If he goes to Spurs, he may have to agree to be cover for Kane but he could be a good addition to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
