Rangers’ resolve on star player tested as English side reportedly look to bid

According to Daily Record, Rangers are set to receive a bid from English Championship side Leeds for the services of 24-year-old attacking midfielder Josh Windass.

Preston North End have already seen a £500,000 bid for the Englishman knocked back earlier this month, and Leeds are ready to better the offer as they look to strengthen their squad in the mission to return to the Premier League.

Windass’ contract extension talks have stalled, but it is believed they will resume after the winter transfer window.

The former Accrington Stanley attacker wants to remain at Ibrox as he looks to remain an integral part of manager Graeme Murty going forward, but Rangers might be tempted into cashing in if Leeds table a big-money offer.

With the arrivals of Sean Goss, Jason Cummings and Jamie Murphy, the Light Blues can sure do with Windass’ sales and boost their transfer kitty in order to strengthen other areas of the squad.
