Goal.com have broadcasted the news from the Turkish newspaper Aksam about Celtic’s interest in Beskitas defender Dusko Tosic.

Turkish media reports that Hooks made the official €3 million offer for Tosic. But, according to the same source, Besiktas are looking for €4 million and are not ready to lower their claims.

Celtic’ manager Brendan Rodgers is determined to boost his backline, as Erik Sviatchenko already left Celtic Park to join Midtjylland on a season-long loan, and Jozo Simunovic is also on the way out.

Former Werder Bremen centre-back is a regular starter for Besiktas, and head coach Senol Gunes will hardly renounce his services. However, Pepe, Matej Mitrovic, and Gary Medel could all cover up the central defender role, but Celtic need to meet the Besiktas’ requests.

The 32-year-old Serb has the experience and ability to improve the Celtic defense, but Scottish champions will have to persuade Istanbul’ club to let him leave this January.
